about

Radu-Mihai Măldărescu
architect

I am a Bucharest-based architect and PhD candidate in architecture, exploring the ways in which visionary architecture finds form, whether through drawing, installation, sculpture, text, or building. My research is rooted in the experimental practices of the 1980s, particularly those that emerged as a response to the constraints of standardized architectural production.

Alongside teaching at the university, I pursue an independent practice shaped by a curiosity for alternative architectural narratives, those which speak through affect, memory, and place rather than convention. Over time, my work has shifted from formal architectural training toward more tactile and interpretive modes of expression, including illustration and site-specific installation.

To date, I have built two pavilions and their accompanying landscapes, with a third currently underway in the architecture student campus from Bucharest.
